Machine time is available in quarter day (2 hours), half day (4 hours), and whole day (8 hours) increments. The minimum time to be charged is a quarter day. Please call for pricing.
All samples from on-campus facilities must arrive with an ISR. Clients will be invoiced for services provided.
Samples must be appropriately packaged - vacuum packed in plastic bags/containers (it must be somewhat flexible). Glass and metal are not permitted (they do not stand up well to high pressures). Samples must be sized to fit into a basket with an opening of 6.75 inches (or 5.75 inches for the liner and basket used for samples with particulates). Please confirm the size of your packages before sending samples for processing.
We can pack samples for you (as part of your paid time) or you can send them pre-packaged (this is preferable).
Samples that have been inoculated with pathogens must be triple bagged, with a layer of disinfectant between the second and third (outermost) bag.
The equipment must be subjected to cleaning/disinfection after running inoculated samples. The time needed to do this will be charged as part of the project.
Please contact Laura Douglas (540-231-6325 or ) to discuss sample requirements and to schedule sample runs.
